GREENE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Members of the Greene County community are invited to a presentation that aims to raise awareness of how people, especially young people, can use common household items to hide illicit materials.

Greene County Public Schools, the Greene County Office of Emergency Services and the Public Safety Foundation of Greene County are working together to put on a "Hidden in Plain Sight" presentation.

This is designed for parents and guardians to help them know how young people can hide things like drugs, alcohol and vaping paraphernalia in common items.

Attendees will have a chance to explore a staged bedroom to see if they can find the items that are being used as hiding places.

Then Culpeper Police Department Master Police Officer Michael Grant will identify the items frequently used to conceal materials.

Children are not permitted to attend the presentation, but there will be child care services available.

The event, which includes dinner for all who attend, will take place at the Performing Arts Center at William Monroe High School on Jan. 15 at 6 p.m.
