ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Albemarle County residents can vote in the Presidential Primary Election for the Democratic Party nomination on March 3, according to a news release from the County of Albemarle.

All registered voters in Albemarle County are eligible to vote in this election and the names of the candidates for the Democratic Party nomination for the office of President of the United States will appear on the ballots in all of the voting precincts.

This Friday is when absentee voting for the March 3 Primary Election begins. Click here to view the ballot for the March 3 primary election.

Feb. 10 is the deadline to register to vote in this election.

The release stated write-in votes are not permitted in primary elections pursuant to Va. Code § 24.2-529.

The county encourages voters to contact their local officials before the registration deadline if they want to check their voter registration status.
