Kathryn Young is a News Anchor on Good Morning Charlottesville and GMC on FOX Virginia. She began reporting for CBS19 News in January of 2020. She has lived in Virginia all her life - she grew up in the Richmond area and is a 2019 graduate of Washington and Lee University where she studied Journalism and Business Administration.

While at Washington and Lee, Kathryn was an anchor, reporter, producer, and weather forecaster for the Rockbridge Report, W&L’s student-run newscast. She was also the sports editor of the school’s newspaper, the Ring-tum Phi. She sang in Washington and Lee’s all-female a cappella group, JubiLee, and danced in the W&L Repertory Dance Company. Kathryn studied abroad twice in college - in Copenhagen, Denmark and in London, England.

During her summers, she completed internships at CBS 6, where she worked as a news intern, and the Richmond Times-Dispatch, where she worked as a business reporting intern.

When she isn’t working, you can typically find her in a spin class, trying out a restaurant in town, spending time with family, or exploring a new city - she loves to travel!
