CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- People who want to display a piece of artwork in their windows or on their porches can now submit to be part of a special gallery.

The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative is working with Charlottesville Safe Routes to School to put together ART APART: A City-Wide Gallery at a Distance.

According to a release, all ages are welcome to participate and all submissions will be included in the project.

It adds that this is an effort to keep creativity and connectivity alive during the coronavirus pandemic, which has left many people feeling disconnected from each other.

All people need to do is find a visible window or porch location in their home where they can display a piece of are they have created or from their personal collection.

Once the artwork is up, fill out an online form so that the house can be added to a digital map that will show all the places displaying a piece of art.

“We’re all feeling a little on edge and isolated,” Said Alan Goffinski, the director of the Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative. “We like to imagine adults and kids all over the city finding this as an opportunity to connect with a city-wide effort to put something positive and beautiful into their neighborhoods.”
