CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Charlottesville Women in Tech is looking to celebrate women's month by providing resources for women to enter the tech field or get involved in STEM.

The group hopes to bridge the gender gap in technology, which has been getting wider in the past 20 years.

"If young girls, maybe middle school age, before that age you see a lot of activity for young girls who are interested in STEM and tech and very involved and then when they get to middle school or junior high school, electives don't really give them the opportunity to continue to do those things,” said Trae Turner, the communication director for CWIT.

She adds for any woman in the area looking to get involved in a tech career to contact the group.

There are multiple events and networking opportunities each year. For more information, click here.
