CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- From gear to registration, soccer can be a very expensive sport. However, a local nonprofit wants to make sure money isn't an issue.

Soccer Organization Charlottesville Area, known as SOCA, held a tournament on Sunday to raise money for kids who have financial barriers.

"We believe that everybody should be able to play regardless of their ability to pay," said SOCA president Don Long.

SOCA donates around $100,000 annually to its Matt Henderson Fund, which allows kids to just focus on playing their favorite sport.

If you are interested in donating, you can visit SOCA's website for more information.
