CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Applications are now being accepted for a grant program from the Junior League of Charlottesville.

According to a release, JLC will be awarding up to $6,000 in grants through its Fall Community Grants program.

There will be a maximum of two grants of up to $4,000 awarded to fund time-bound projects that align with the theme of Empowering Women Through Mentorship.

The release says the projects must impact women and/or girls in the Central Virginia area.

Recipients would ideally also offer volunteer or training opportunities for JLC members.

Applications need to be submitted by Oct. 8.
