CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- One Jefferson District matchup is off the schedule this Friday night after Monticello announced their game against Louisa County has been canceled.

Monticello Athletic Director Matthew Pearman announced via Twitter both the junior varsity and varsity games were canceled this week "out of an abundance of caution" due to COVID-19 protocols. Pearman told CBS19 the game will not be rescheduled with the Mustangs already scheduled to play a game in every remaining week of the regular season.

This is Louisa County's second game canceled due to COVID-19 this season after their game against Massaponax was canceled and later replaced with a matchup against King George.

Both team's next games are schedule for Friday, Oct. 8 with Louisa County hosting Orange County and Monticello traveling to Fluvanna County.
