UVA School of Medicine preparing for the next pandemic
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Wladek Minor, a professor of Molecular Physiology at the University of Virginia, teamed up with other researchers, including ones from China and Poland, to create the website called VirusMed.
The site will be the source to find information on all of the known viruses in one place.
"We came up with a site that can keep track of all of these structures and evaluate the quality of the structure," said David Cooper, instructor of research.
They hope the new website will be a good source for the medical community.
In the case of a new virus, they will be able to begin research for a vaccine even faster.
"I envision that it will be a change in the simulation of information in science," said Minor.
