CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Police Department says the person who likely killed a woman nine years ago is still missing.

Dashad "Sage" Smith was just 19-years-old when she vanished on Nov. 20, 2012.

She was last seen at around 6:30 p.m. on West Main Street. Her disappearance was initially classified as a missing persons case, but a few years later, it was changed to a homicide.

CPD identified now 29-year-old Erik McFadden as a critical person of interest. He was the last known person to have contact with Smith, but reportedly left town when he was supposed to talk to detectives.

Anyone with information about McFadden's disappearance or Smith's homicide are asked to call Detective Ross Cundiff at (434) 970-3373 or the anonymous CrimeStoppers line at (434) 977-4000.

There is a $20,000 reward for information that could lead to an arrest.
