ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- There are 24 nonprofit animal organizations getting funding, and the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is one of them.

The CASPCA will be getting $1,500 to support the trap-neuter-return program for feral cats that roam the city and county.

"Getting this funding makes a huge difference in our ability to trap and spay and neuter community cats in Charlottesville and Albemarle. So these are cats that have caretakers, but the cats live outside, so getting them spayed and neutered means that in the spring they will have fewer kittens coming into the shelter," said Moriah Good, the CASPCA's director of advancement.

Funding comes from the Ursula Landsrath Animal Rescue Fund and the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties.
