SAVANNAH, Ga. (CBS19 NEWS) -- New information has come out regarding a U.S. Army helicopter crash that killed a MedEvac pilot from Charlottesville last week.

The Army Times reports investigators are looking into the crash, saying it was not an accident.

The Army’s Criminal Investigation Division is probing the crash.

Captain James Bellew of Charlottesville was the only crewmember involved in the incident, according to the Army.

The crash occurred at Wright Army Airfield near Savannah, Georgia, while the rest of the crew was asleep.

Bellew was a graduate of Albemarle High School and the University of Virginia ROTC.
