CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A Charlottesville resident will star on the reality TV show 90 Day Fiancé this summer.

Contestant Kara Bass graduated from William Monroe High School in Greene County and is now a real estate agent in Charlottesville.

Bass will star in the ninth season of the show with her fiancé Guillermo Rojer, who is from Venezuela.

The couple met in the Dominican Republic and have been dating since 2018.

The show follows couples who have applied for a Visa because of foreign fiancés, and therefore have 90 days to marry each other or call it quits.

Bass says since her mom is a big fan of the show, she decided to apply.

"It took some warming up to the idea to be so public, and now that everything is public, I'm committed now and I am really excited," she said.

Bass says she wants viewers to know they are a real couple, and she's grown a lot as a person since starring on the show.

This season of 90 Day Fiancé will premiere on Easter Sunday at 8 p.m. You can watch it on TLC, Discovery Plus, Hulu, and Filo.
