CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (CBS19 Sports) -- Virginia women's tennis picked up four singles wins, including the clinching point from sophomore Sara Ziodato, to upset No. 3 NC State 4-3.

“I think we've been knocking on the door with some of these top teams," said UVA women's tennis coach Sara O'Leary. We had a healthy squad out there today, so that makes a big difference because we haven't been in that position in the past eight matches or so. I think really helped with the energy today and we're just excited moving forward. I think we're just going to continue to build off this.”

No. 14 Virginia fell in the doubles point, but quickly evened the score with a win from Hibah Shaikh on court five, 6-2, 6-3.

After another Wolfpack point, Emma Navarro on court one (6-4, 6-1) and Natasha Subhash on court two (6-4, 6-2) tied and retook the lead. NC State would win on court three and tie the match at 3-3, heading down to court five.

Sara Ziodato took the first set 6-4, then fell in a tiebreaker in the second 7-6. The sophomore from Italy ended up with the clinch, winning 6-1.

"I was just thinking about playing a point at a time and fight for my team," said UVA sophomore tennis player Sara Ziodato. "Just take it slow, breathe and have fun. It's amazing, it just pays off all the hard work we put in everyday."

"We talked a lot before our match about just being resilient, being able to bounce back, not being afraid of a failure and we missed some opportunities in that doubles point but I don't think that phased the girls at all," said O'Leary. "I think they came back out more determined than ever and it showed in the singles."

This was the second win for Virginia over a top-10 opponent, and the second ranked win this weekend.

Virginia travels to Clemson on Friday, April 15 and Georgia Tech on Sunday, April 17
