CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 News) -- Charlottesville's free summer concert series begins today at the Ting Pavilion.

Fridays After Five will start every Friday at 5:30 p.m. until Sept. 9. This long-standing event is a summer-long concert series where people can check out local performers at the Ting Pavilion on the Downtown Mall.

This marks the event's 34th year and will be the first full season since 2019. Local non-profits will be represented at each event to share the proceeds. Each Friday there will be a different performer, providing a wide range of genres to suit most musical tastes.

The band that will be performing tonight is Dropping Julia.

CBS19 will be there live at 5 and 6 p.m. this evening.
