PALMYRA, Va (CBS19 Sports) -- A pair of Flucos put pen to paper to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. The student-athletes will both be staying in the Commonwealth.

Khania Brassfield has commit to Virginia Union, where she will join the volleyball program.

"The coach came and was watching me at my tournament with RVC and he was very interested in me, especially because I'm a middle and I'm able to pass a little bit," said Fluvanna County senior volleyball player Khania Brassfield. "When I went to practice with them, they made me feel very welcomed. It was definitely a challenge because it was a different pace but it was very exciting."

She Hart will be joining VMI's track and field program, receiving scholarship money to join as a hurdler.

"This is actually a dream come true I've always wanted to do military," said Fluvanna County senior hurdler Shea Hart. "I like how the school isn't easy. I love the challenge and I'm so ready to bring my college track career to VMI."

Fluvanna County High School will recognize six student-athletes who are joining DII athletics programs next week.
