BLACKSBURG, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Once again, the National Weather Service has issued freeze watches and warnings for parts of the area.

The freeze warning, which covers the higher elevations along the Blue Ridge and the Shenandoah Valley will be in effect from midnight to 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to drop a little below freezing.

There is also a freeze watch that will be in effect Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

Along with the higher elevations, this watch includes the counties of Albemarle, Nelson, Greene, Madison and Orange.

NWS says these conditions can kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
