CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A local travel agency says this is the busiest it's been since prior to the pandemic.

Julie Arbelaez, a travel agent at Peace Frogs, says she's booked a few hundred trips for the second and third quarters of this year.

She says people feel like there's a short window of time to travel before the next wave of COVID hits, and the uncertainty of the conflict in Ukraine is causing people to plan trips sooner rather than later.

She says merchandise sales have spiked as well.

"Luggage, accessories, we do packing demos. It's almost as though people that travel for leisure have forgotten how to travel,” said Arbelaez.

Arbelaez says Utah, Hawaii, Wyoming, and Montana are common choices for domestic travel. Western Europe and Iceland are popular picks for international travel.
