CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Friday is Earth Day at the IX Art Park and it's holding Fridays for the Future.

This event is about knowing ways to maintain the Earth. At the event, there will be different types of sustainability vendors and workshops.

At 7 p.m., there will be a thrift fashion show, and then a showing of 2040, a documentary about battling the climate crisis.

"This is about celebrating and really giving awareness to appreciating and maintaining our Earth," said Khalilah Jones, a member of the art park's Board of Directors. "You know, we only get one home. That is what the event is about."

Friday’s for the Future started at 6 p.m. and will go on until 8 p.m.
