CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Members of the community are invited to attend a public hearing regarding improvements to the intersection of Seminole Trail and Hydraulic Road.

The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold the hearing on May 25 at the Hillsdale Conference Center.

According to a release, this design public hearing will be focused on proposals to improve the travel experience in the area.

Several ideas have been proposed during this collaboration between VDOT, Charlottesville and Albemarle County.

Among those are the construction of a pedestrian bridge over Seminole Trail with bus stops and shelters near Zan Road, construction of a signalized pedestrian crossing and reconfigured traffic patterns in the intersection, reconstruction of the intersection of Angus Road and Seminole Trail, reconstruction of the intersection of Hillsdale Drive and Hydraulic Road, and improving access management at the intersections of Hydraulic Road/Brandywine Drive and Hydraulic Road/Michie Drive.

VDOT staff will be at the hearing to talk about the proposals and answer questions.
