CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Two of Charlottesville’s outdoor pools will be opening up this weekend for the summer season.

According to the Charlottesville Department of Parks and Recreation, the Onesty Family Aquatic Center and the Washington Park Pool will open at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Additionally, the admission price will be reduced for the Memorial Day Weekend to welcome back everyone to the pools.

Regular pricing will resume on June 11, and summer pool passes will go on sale June 1.

The summer pool passes will be valid at Onesty Family Aquatic Center, Washington Park Pool, and the Smith Aquatic and Fitness Center

The Smith Aquatic Center has been closed since May 2020 for work to update its ventilation and air distribution system. It will be reopening on May 31 at 7 a.m.

The city says the Onesty Family Aquatic Center and Washington Park Pool will be open for the holiday weekend as well as June 4 and 5. They will be open daily beginning June 11.

The Smith Aquatic Center will be open May 31 through June 2, and then again on June 3. But it will be closed on June 4 and 5 before being open daily beginning June 6.

For the holiday weekend, the city Department of Parks and Recreation reminds residents that its administrative offices will be closed through Monday.

The Carver Recreation Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the Key and Tonsler Recreation Centers will be open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The spray grounds will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
