UPDATE 6:20 p.m.: The Albemarle County Police Department reports Zayla Christmas has been located and is no longer considered a missing child.

Police say no further information will be released regarding this.


UPDATE June 7: The Albemarle County Police Department continues to search for Zayla Christmas, who was last seen on May 20.

According to an updated release, the department says it has been working with the teen's family since she was reported as a runaway.

At this time, it is not believed that Christmas is in any immediate danger and it is likely she is with people she knows.

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Albemarle County Police Department is asking for help to find a missing teen.

According to police, 13-year-old Zayla Christmas was last seen on May 20.

Police say she was last seen wearing a black shirt, black joggers, and black/red Nike Air Force high tops.

Christmas is a Black female who is 4-foot-11 and weighs 113 pounds. She wears glasses and often has her hair braided.
