CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Band is celebrating 100 years of presenting music.

Formerly known as the Municipal Band of Charlottesville, it was formed in 1922 and is one of the oldest continuously operating amateur community bands in the country.

All of its members are volunteers, and all of its concerts are free and open to the public.

There are several performances scheduled for this summer, including one at the Paramount Theater on Aug. 2, which is the band’s only indoor concert.

While this performance is still free to attend, people do need to register for tickets. For more information, click here.
