CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Members of the greater Charlottesville community are invited to attend a virtual meeting on regional transit.

The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission will be hosting the meeting on June 23.

According to a release, officials will be collecting public input on a draft Regional Transit Vision for the Charlottesville Area, which includes the surrounding counties.

There are two concepts for a future transit network that people will be able to look at.

The project is a collaborative effort to evaluate transit services in the city and surrounding counties with the aim of establishing a long-term vision for equitable and effective transit service through the TJPDC’s area.

The commission is leading this process with resources from the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transit, with matching funds from Charlottesville and Albemarle County.
