Woodberry's Rodney Lora commits to UVA
WOODBERRY FOREST, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Woodberry Forest defensive lineman Rodney Lora will play his college ball just a half hour down the road after committing to Virginia on Friday.
Lora becomes the current top recruit in the Class of 2023 after choosing the Cavaliers over offers from North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Michigan among others. A 3-star defensive lineman, Lora also ranks at the No. 17 prospect in the commonwealth, according to 247 Sports.
As a junior, Lora played across the defensive line for Woodberry Forest and helped the Tigers pick up their first win over rivals Episcopal since 2016. Lora joins a long line of recent Woodberry Forest products to commit to Virginia along with wide receiver Terrell Jana, quarterback Lindell Stone and punter Lester Coleman.
The New Jersey native becomes the seventh commit in the Class of 2023 for Virginia and the fourth in-state product, joining defensive lineman Miles Greene, offensive lineman Cole Surber and running back Donte Hawthorne.
