NELSON COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Wintergreen Resort will host a music festival live from the mountaintop. It's being put on by the nonprofit Wintergreen Music.

The music will feature Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saëns, Beethoven, Brahms, Vivaldi, and Mozart with new favorites Kenji Bunch, Caroline Shaw with Wintergreen Festival Orchestra led by conductors Carl St. Clair, Erin Freeman, Michelle Merrill and Andrew Grams.

There will also be jazz, bluegrass, and tango music.

“We are so excited to be able to safely gather back in full force to present our usual exhilarating mix of musical experiences,” said Artistic Director Erin Freeman. “We’ll have full orchestra, virtuosic solos, chamber music, jazz, tango, bluegrass and more - pairing familiar favorites with pieces that will soon be added to your playlist. One of my favorite parts of being Artistic Director is helping the audience hear something new in an old classic and, on the flip side, guiding them through a new classic for the very first time.”

During the whole month of July, there will be a list of events, including:

  • July 8-10: Opening Night Concert & Celebration: Jazzy Favorites with the WFO // MountainTop Masterworks I: Opening Weekend – Carnival of the Animals
  • July 15-17: Tango Night with QuinTango // MountainTop Masterworks II: Four Seasons, Four Ways & A Summery Beethoven Symphony
  • July 22-24: Movie Night // MountainTop Masterworks III: Mozart Symphony No. 40 & Shostakovich Piano Concerto No. 1
  • July 29-31: The Best of Bluegrass with Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen // MountainTop Masterworks IV: Season Finale – Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony
