ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Albemarle County Department of Parks and Recreation has released a statement regarding the swimming beaches at Mint Springs Park will be closed starting Friday.

This most likely has to do with the ongoing lifeguard shortage.

The department says it is actively searching for lifeguards, beach managers, a head lifeguard, and a seasonal maintenance worker.

It also states that other locations that will be open, including Chris Greene Lake Park and Walnut Creek Park.

The department's summer operating hours are Thursdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Aug. 21.
