Charlottesville Opera back in full swing with in-person season
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Opera is back in full swing with its first entirely in-person season since the pandemic began.
The organization just wrapped its production of "The Sound of Music" on Sunday, and has one show left in its season later this month. That is "The Merry Widow."
General Director Leanne Clement says ticket sales are very successful, which is exciting coming out of the pandemic.
"On Sunday, we were over 800 so to me that says our community is ready to be back in the theater and see performances live in the theater. And by and large, what everyone has told me is how happy they are to be back in person and see live performances,” said Clement.
The production of the operetta, "The Merry Widow" opens July 22.
