AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Frog Pond Road in Augusta County.

The crash occurred around 7:35 a.m. Saturday.

Officials say a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix heading north on Frog Pond Road ran off the side of the road and overcorrected.

It then ran off the left side of the road and hit a fence, causing the vehicle to flip over.

Police say the driver, 60-year-old Dwayne L. Maricle of Staunton, died at the scene and wasn't wearing a seat belt. He was thrown from the vehicle.

The crash is still under investigation.
