ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Beagles that were removed from ENVIGO's Cumberland County breeding facility will soon be in need of foster families in the Charlottesville area.

The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA will be receiving beagle puppies and mothers from Homeward Trails Animal Shelter in Fairfax County later this week.

In the coming weeks, the CASPCA will also be partnering directly with the Humane Society of the United States to take in even more beagles rescued from the facility.

"They've been in a very sad situation, so I am just so excited for these beagles that they get a chance, a second chance, at a really good life," said Angie Gunter, Chief Executive Officer of the CASPCA. "We want to find them good homes like we do all of the animals here but I think it's incredible what has happened, with these animals, these beagles, being able to be released."

The beagles will not be available for adoption for a few weeks while their medical needs are evaluated and taken care of.

If you are interested in fostering a beagle, reach out to the CASPCA and you will be placed on a waiting list. Specify that you are interested in fostering a beagle.
