Woman arrested on multiple charges for incident in Albemarle County
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- An Augusta County woman is facing multiple charges for a series of incidents that occurred in the Crozet area.
According to the Albemarle County Police Department, officers responded around 11:45 a.m. Saturday to several calls about someone driving very erratically, possibly drunk.
Callers reported a vehicle running into a ditch several times and hitting a mailbox without stopping.
The vehicle was heading east on Rockfish Gap Turnpike.
Police spotted the vehicle on Ivy Road and tried to pull it over.
ACPD says a slow-speed pursuit then occurred until the driver pulled in the Northridge Medical Park on Ivy Road.
The driver, identified as 57-year-old Jennifer Lois Grimm of Fishersville, was arrested at that time.
She is facing counts of driving after forfeiture of a driver's license, hit-and-run of unattended property, eluding police, and driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Grimm was taken to the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail and has been released on a $2.500 unsecured bond.
