Charlottesville Red Cross seeking financial donations to help people hit by Kentucky flooding
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville chapter of the American Red Cross is calling on the community for financial donations to help those impacted by the massive flooding in Kentucky.
Bill Brent, the executive director of the Charlottesville chapter, says they have already sent 200 people to help with rescue efforts, and every donation counts.
"When you support the Red Cross financially, whether it's $5, which would cover a blanket, or $10, which would be a meal, it adds up," he said.
He says with hundreds of people still unaccounted for, the Red Cross anticipates search, rescue, and recovery efforts to be long-lasting, and it'll need all the help it can get.
