RICHMOND, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Flags across Virginia are flying at half-staff Thursday in honor of a member of Congress who was killed Wednesday in a crash.

Governor Glenn Youngkin issued the order following a proclamation from President Joe Biden.

The U.S. and Virginia flags on all state and local buildings and grounds across the Commonwealth were lowered Thursday morning.

Indiana Congresswoman Jackie Walorski and two of her staff members were killed Wednesday in a head-on crash in the district she served.

The flags will remain lowered until sunset.
