AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- An adult was killed and three children hurt in a crash in Augusta County.

According to the Virginia State Police, the crash occurred around 7:35 p.m. Thursday on Limestone Road, more than a mile north of the intersection of Quicks Mill Road.

Police say a 2006 Honda Civic was heading north on Limestone Road when it ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and then ran off the left side of the road.

The Honda hit a tree.

The driver, identified as 36-year-old Wallace L. Blackwell of Mount Sidney, died at the scene.

Three children, a 12-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl and an eight-year-old boy, were all taken to the University of Virginia Health System with serious injuries.

Police say all four people were wearing seat belts.

The crash is still under investigation.
