CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Four Charlottesville-area woman-owned fitness studios are teaming up to host a fundraiser for the nonprofit The Body Positive.

The Body Positive's mission is to end the harmful consequences of negative body image that can result in eating disorders, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and other mental health issues.

Their courses train people to use five evidence-based Competencies of the Be Body Positive Model in their own lives and as licensed facilitators, bringing the work into schools and communities.

The event, called "Your Body Loves You, Love It Back," will be held Sunday at Potter's Craft Cider at 11:30 a.m. The rain or shine event will include a keynote speaker, raffles, vendors, and guided movement from four different local boutique exercise studios.

The movement will consist of four, 15-minute segments from MADabolic, Pure Barre Charlottesville, HI // low, and Salute the Sun Yoga.

The organizer of the event, Shannon Burns, said she wanted to raise awareness about the struggles many women face with body image and self-esteem.

"I just thought it would be really unique to bring us all together to do something really positive, where we are showing that movement is healthy, that it is great for your bodies, and we are all very different and we can come together to move," she said.

Money raised from Sunday's event will go specifically toward creating a curriculum for kindergarten through eighth-grade students to learn about positive ways of thinking about themselves.
