Schedule reveals UVA women's basketball open ACC play early
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- New Virginia women's basketball coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton will not have to wait long for her first taste of ACC play with the conference revealing the schedule on Wednesday.
The Cavaliers will play an 18-game conference schedule with home and away games against Duke, NC State, North Carolina and Virginia Tech.
Virginia opens ACC play on November 13 against Wake Forest, one of two games played before the holiday break with a trip to Duke scheduled for Dec. 21. UVA will also host Georgia Tech on Dec. 29 before New Year's.
The first of two Commonwealth Clash matchups with Virginia Tech comes in Blacksburg on Jan. 5 with the Hokies returning to Charlottesville. Virginia will play three straight home ACC games during the season with the first starting on Jan. 12 with North Carolina followed by Boston College (Jan. 15) and Florida State (Jan. 19) then a tough second set with Louisville (Feb. 9), NC State (Feb. 12) and Duke (Feb. 19).
William Monroe alum Sam Brunelle will return to Notre Dame on January 22 after transferring to Virginia in the offseason.
