ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- For the fourth time, the SPCA Rummage Store will be hosting the Critter Lift and Rummage Store Extravaganza.

The event, which supports the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, will take place Saturday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The event will take place at the store, offering shopping and a donation drive as well as door prizes and a face painter.

This year’s event will also offer new specialty items for sale and the Compassionate Care-A-Van on-site with adoptable dogs.

“The Critter Lift is always a fun way to support the SPCA and the animals in our care,” said Angie Gunter, the CEO of the CASPCA. “Proceeds from the event will allow us to impact the lives of even more animals moving forward.”

The Critter Lift raised more than $7,300 last year to help animals in the shelter’s care.

People will also be able to drop off supplies the shelter needs, like food, towels and pet toys.

The SPCA Rummage Store will be closed on Friday to get ready for the Critter Lift. It will resume its normal hours next Tuesday.
