CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Racing Club has been working hard to raise funds for Toy Lift, an organization providing toys to underprivileged kids.

Bikes are the most requested toy for ages eight to 10.

In the past, Charlottesville Racing Club has been able to provide between 80 and 100 bikes for the holiday Toy Lift.

On Saturday, the club will be hosting a 100-mile fundraising ride, beginning at Old Trail Village in Crozet at 9 a.m.

“People can ride as much of the course as much as they want so nobody is obligated to go out and ride 100 miles at a fast pace or whatever. So, people can come out, they can ride 10 miles or 20 miles or whatever, whatever pace they want to ride,” said Ethan Gruber, the treasurer of the Charlottesville Racing Club.

The organization is less than $2,500 from its $10,000 goal. It hopes to make that during Saturday’s ride.

There is no registration, and it is open to the public.
