CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Do Good Cville and the Haven have teamed up for the seventh annual Winter Wear Drive.

It's collecting new or gently-used winter clothing to help people in need in the area. It gives coats, sweaters and socks to about 300 people each year.

"It brings back the human aspect of people right now. Showing someone that it dealing with homelessness or are in need, we're saying we see you, you're a human and we want to take care of you," said Kerry Rock, the co-founder of Do Good Cville.

There are donation sites at 12 local businesses that are open through Sunday night.

Random Row Brewery's donation site will stay open through Wednesday night, followed by a family-friendly bingo event.

One donation site is at Shenandoah Joe, and manager Ashley Harvey said they are a donation site because it's important to give back to people in the community.

"Having a warm coat this season, it's supposed to be a really cold season. And, anytime we can help out that's what we like to do. We like to keep you warm on the inside and out," she said.

The clothes will be handed out at the Haven on Nov. 18.
