Greene County Habitat for Humanity helps repair a child care's back deck
GREENE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Greene County Habitat for Humanity is helping give back to another nonprofit organization.
The Greene County Child Care Center's back deck is almost 30 years old, so it was time to get an upgrade, but the estimate for the repair on a new deck would have been between $80,000 and $100,000.
Thanks to Habitat and others like Randy Hardware, Domino's in Ruckersville, Sam's Club in Charlottesville, and more, the materials for the deck were donated and the structure was repaired.
Now kids have a back deck to safely play on.
"Habitat in Greene County has worked with other charities on affordable housing issues and supported seniors on critical home repairs. We work with both the county and other social services and so that taught us it is good to be a good charitable neighbor," said Rusty Burwell, Operating Committee for Greene County Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat and volunteers will also work on the project on Saturday to help get the job done.
