CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Anyone who needs to take care of business with their locality’s government needs to do so by 12 p.m. Wednesday.

Several area governments are closing their offices at that time and they will remain closed until Nov. 28.

Other community facilities will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day, such as the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority’s recycling centers on McIntire Road and the Ivy Material Utilization Center.

They will reopen on Friday.

In Charlottesville, there will be no residential curbside trash or recycling collected on Thanksgiving Day.

That service will resume Friday on a schedule one day behind its usual pattern, so locations normally collected on Thursdays will be collected on Friday and those collected on Fridays will be picked up on Saturday.

One thing that will be operating as normal is the Charlottesville Area Transit, which will be offering all of its bus routes on Thanksgiving.
