CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The University of Virginia Police Department reports it has received more threatening emails.

On Saturday, the police department tweeted about a threatening email that was related to that day’s memorial service at the John Paul Jones Arena.

On Monday, the department reported that it is continuing to investigate the message with the assistance of state and federal law enforcement agencies.

It also said that UVA officials received several communications “of a similar nature” on Monday, and these messages are also being investigated.

The department says that it will be updating the community in the vent that a threat is determined to be credible.

Anyone with ties to UVA who receives suspicious email communication should forward that message to [email protected].

Anyone who sees suspicious activity is asked to call 911.
