CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- The Virginia and Virginia Tech football game scheduled for Saturday, November 26 has been canceled in the wake of the devastating loss of three UVA football players Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr. and D'Sean Perry.

The ACC announced the decision on Monday night following communication between the conference, Virginia and Virginia Tech athletic departments.

The UVA football program gathered on Saturday for a memorial service to honor the lives of their teammates as well as the two students who were injured running back Mike Hollins and Marlee Morgan.

This brings an end to Tony Elliott's first season at Virginia after only ten games with the final two against Coastal Carolina and Virginia Tech canceled.
