CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Some organizations can now apply for money to help them engage in affordable housing-related activities.

Charlottesville has opened the Application for Funding Interest for Housing Operations and Program Support, or HOPS.

This program used to be part of the Vibrant Communities Fund applications for housing-related activities.

Not-for-profits that engage in affordable housing-related activities can request operation or program-type funding.

The city says eligible organizations need to have a substantial presence in the city and engage in affordable housing activities within the city’s limits.

Applications will be accepted until Dec. 30.
