CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (CBS19 SPORTS)-- Just a week after the UVA women's soccer season has ended, junior mid-fielder Lia Godfrey has earned first team All-American honors.

This is Godfrey's 3rd year in a row being named to the list and she is the only 3 time All-American on the list of 46 players. Godfrey's honor marks the 19th time over the past 20 seasons that UVA has had a player be named as an All-American.

This is just one of a long list of post season honors as Godfrey had also been named to first team All-ACC and earned her third straight All-ACC honor as she tallied eight goals and five assists on the year. Godfrey ended her junior campaign tied for second in goals with Alexa Spaanstra and ended second in assists behind Spaanstra and Haley Hopkins. Godfrey did, however, lead the team in game winning goals, knocking in last minute goals to beat no. 2 North Carolina, no. 4 Duke and lastly against Xavier in the second round of the NCAAA tournament.

Virginia ended the season with a 16-4-3 record, falling to no. 1 UCLA in the Elite 8.
