CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- While most of the departure news on Monday dealt with the transfer portal, Virginia wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks officially declared for the NFL Draft.

Wicks made the announcement on Instagram after previously accepting an invite to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Al. Wicks joins All-ACC cornerback Anthony Johnson, who will also participate in the Senior Bowl, and fellow receiver Billy Kemp as Cavaliers who have declared for the NFL Draft.

"To my brothers, I enjoyed every bit of time we had together and I'll never forget them," Wicks said in his post, "I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to attend the University of Virginia."

Wicks finishes his Virginia career ranked No. 12 all-time in receiving yards with 1,694 yards. In 2021, Wicks put together one of the best seasons in program history by a receiver with 57 catches for a school record 1,203 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

The redshirt junior endured a down season this year though with the rest of the UVA offense, only coming up with 30 catches for 430 yards and two touchdowns in eight games.
