CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Charlottesville Police and Hunter Wyant Insurance teamed up to give out toys to local children.

This is the 12th year of their partnership.

Both groups raise money, and the officers then get to go Christmas shopping.

"It takes a village to raise a community, and this is just one way to give back to the community that we serve,” said CPD interim Chief Tito Durrette.

“I grew up in this community, wanted to number one, work with the police department, but also to give back to the community I grew up in," Hunter Wyant of Wyant Insurance said.

Both men said this day in particular is always a bright spot in their year.
