RALEIGH, NC. (CBS19 SPORTS)-- The UVA women's basketball road trip continued to Raleigh where the 'Hoos fell short in their second straight top ten match up 87-62.

UVA started out slow, with their first 8 of 12 points all coming from Camryn Taylor in a battle in the paint. In fact in the first quarter alone UVA scored 10 or their 12 attempts in the paint while the wolfpack scored 16 of 18 there. Thanks to Taylor's heroics down low VA was able to keep it a 2 point game until a jumper in the final minute gave the Wolfpack the 5 point advantage.

NC State jumped out in the 2nd quarter first building up a 10 point lead. UVA would get back into the game with a jumper from Brunelle to trigger a 7-0 run. A three from Taylor and layup from Alexia Smith pulled the 'Hoos within three but by the end of the half NC State had run away again 41-30.

Mir Mclean came out strong in the second half scoring the first three points to put UVA within a 8 point reach. NC State responded with 7 points within a 53 second span to take control once again. Mclean would exit the game with 4:18 remaining giving way to an 18 point lead from the Wolfpack.

NC State opened up the final quarter on an 8-2 run to build up a 76-53 lead leading up to a 25-point advantage by the end of the quarter.
