CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- No. 19 Virginia returned home to pick up where they left off scoring 20-plus runs for the second time in four games at Disharoon Park with a 26-2 over Longwood.

The 26 runs were the most by UVA in a single game since scoring 27 against Maryland in 2010 and marks the fourth-time under Brian O'Connor the Cavaliers have scored 20-plus runs at least twice in a season (2006, 2010, 2020, 2023).

The effort at the plate was headlined by Jake Gelof (3-for-3, 3 R, HR, 4 RBI), Henry Godbout (3-for-3, 2 R, HR, 4 RBI) and Griff O’Ferrall (3-for-3, 3 R, 2 RBI), while nine players each had multi-RBI games.

Army transfer lefty Connelly Early made his first career start for Virginia, picking up the win and struck out four while only allowing one hit.

The 65 runs through the first four games are the second most by a UVA team in program history behind only the inaugural team in 1889 scoring 70 runs.

Virginia will begin their first home weekend series on Friday when Columbia comes to town.
