ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Several people have been displaced by a fire in Albemarle County.

The Albemarle County Department of Fire Rescue says crews responded to a house fire on Crenshaw Court around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

A resident was unsuccessful in trying to put out the fire, so they closed the door to the bedroom where it had started and evacuated.

Fire officials say that closing the door helped to keep the fire contained until firefighters were able to get to the scene.

Five adults and a dog have been displaced and are getting help from the American Red Cross.

No injuries were reported.

The Albemarle County Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
